Zespo is a visual artist living and working in the Chicagoland area. He received his training in painting from the American Academy of Art followed by an MFA from the University of Chicago in 2018. Over this period, he has developed a painting approach rooted in direct observation, repetitive drawing, and resampling of personal images that stages a point-of-view of everyday life. Recent subject matter of his work includes the automobile window, the police, hi-viz attire, and food. Aside from his painting practice, Zespo is also the Program Coordinator for the Open Practice Committee, the visiting speaker series in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Chicago
