Nura is a 31-year old woman born with Spina Bifida. She has played violin for 23 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from DePaul University and Music Teacher Certification from Northeastern Illinois University. She has been involved in physically-integrated dance and theater for many years. She is now a teacher assistant at Park School in Evanston, working with all students with disabilities. She is passionate about combining both her love of the disability community and teaching music to give kids and young adults—with and without disabilities—access to trying and experiencing music.
