Javier Payano
Javier Payano teaches guitar and music therapy for diverse learners and ukulele and songwriting at Lane Tech College Prep High School. He is the co-founder of the YOURS Orchestra Project, a youth orchestra outreach program. He received a Bachelor of Art in Music Education and a Certificate in Music for Social Change and Human Values from North Park University. He studied at the Institute of Sathya Sai Education in Thailand and remains dedicated to integrating the Education in Human Values (EHV) model in his classroom as well as training and providing workshops for teachers and community leaders interested in EHV. In 2017 he co-founded the Human Values Club, a group dedicated to bringing EHV to a wider audience through YouTube content creation, podcasting, Twitch streaming for charity, weekly practice guide newsletters, and other opportunities for both teachers and young people to get involved with intersectional social justice.
