
Cheryl Pope
Cheryl Pope received her BFA and Master’s in Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she is now an Adjunct Full Professor. Pope studied under artist Nick Cave for twelve years, was a teaching artist at the Museum of Contemporary Art for seven years, and worked in multiple community based organizations throughout Chicago.
Exhibitions and projects in 2022 include a solo exhibition at both Monique Meloche Gallery and the Ulrich Museum of Art. Selected group exhibitions in 2023 include the Flag Art Foundation in NYC, Michigan State University Broad Museum, Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, NY, and Gallery II in Tel Aviv. A recipient of a 2015 3Arts Award, Pope's work is included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; Joan Flasche Artist’s Book Collection, Chicago; Seattle Art Museum, WA; Ulrich Museum of Art, Museum of Contempoary Art Jacksonville, Museum of African Contemporary Art, and Museum of Fine Arts Virginia, among others. A native Chicagoan, Pope is represented by Monique Meloche Gallery and based in Chicago.
