Margaret Bennett
Maggie Bennett is an embodiment-based artist working primarily in performance genres. Based in Chicago since 2019, she grew up in Louisville, KY where she trained in classical ballet, then graduated with BAs in English and Dance from Connecticut College. She lived in New York City for eight years, dancing in other artists' work and showing her own art around town, received several residencies through Dance Theater Workshop/New York Live Arts, Movement Research, and The New Museum, and completed an MFA in sculpture at Yale University in 2015. In the past, her work encompassed poetry and various forms of process writing, dance performance, performance installation, somatic research, and improvisation, but most recently explores the overlap between spiritual practice, artmaking, and embodiment.
