I'm a teacher, a student of life, and an illustrator with a strong desire to positively impact communities through art. As a youth I always desired to be the "Mrs. Frizzle " of visual arts, someone that could sneak science, history, and sociopolitical dialogue into art in a way where you wouldn't realize you were learning until it was too late. Currently I work for three nonprofit organizations that allow me to fulfill that dream of using arts integration to provide children with improved academic and social-emotional outcomes such as creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, but more importantly, to promote social justice and awareness through the lens of comics. Recognizing the value and necessity of these nonprofits, I emphatically started taking steps to start up a gallery space that Chicago's youth and local artists can use as a resource to facilitate artistic growth.
