Karen Rodriguez is a Chicago-based actor hailing from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She recently appeared onstage at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in The Rembrandt with ensemble members John Mahoney and Francis Guinan. Most notably, she starred in the critically-acclaimed solo show The Way She Spoke by Isaac Gomez (Greenhouse Theater Center). Other Chicago credits include Hookman (Steep Theatre); Blue Skies Process, Another Word for Beauty (Goodman Theatre); good friday (Oracle Productions); Don Chipotle (The Storefront Theater); Graveyard of Empires and Our Holiday Stories (16th Street Theater); and Romeo and Juliet (Teatro Vista). Her main focus and passion as an artist is new play development. She is, therefore, proud to be in three upcoming world premieres: Breach by Antoinette Nwandu at Victory Gardens Theatre; The Doppelgänger by Matthew-Lee Erlbach at Steppenwolf Theatre Company; and The Displaced by Isaac Gomez at Haven Theatre. She will also travel to Austin, Texas to regionally premiere The Way She Spoke at the end of 2017. Karen is immensely proud to call Chicago her artistic home and to be honored by 3Arts in the company of such talented artists.
