David Richards was born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1952 and currently lives and works in Chicago. His work has been shown at: Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; the Chicago Cultural Center; the Illinois State Museum, Springfield; The International Museum of Surgical Science, Chicago; Kaoshiung Museum of Fine Arts, Kaoshiung, Taiwan; Phyllis Kind Gallery, Chicago; Compass Rose Gallery, Chicago; and many other venues. He has work in the permanent collections of: Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Logan Square Public Library, Chicago; First National Bank, Chicago; American Medical Association, Chicago; and Access Living, Chicago; as well as a number of private collections. He has received an Individual Artist Grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, a purchase award as part of the City of Chicago Percent for the Arts Program, and the Anna Louise Raymond Fellowship.
